Many newborns & their mothers die in India in labor. It is especially so in villages. To help women enjoy better general health & easier labour, GLA CENTRE is going to start a MATERNITY CENTRE following the milestones given below:
- ANTE-NATAL CHECK UP: 2021: a lady doctor ( gynaecologist) and an experienced mid-wife cum nurse visiting the Centre.
- July, 2022: a Lady Doctor & an experienced nurse cum midwife available at least five days and 20 hrs a week.
- July 2025, a 24-hr mid-wife & nurse & a lady doctor attending or available on call to manage “normal” delivery.

Pindaruch (Bihar 847 306),June 1, Tuesday: In their effort to create a Corona-free nation, Shri Gunjan Patel, President, Youth Congress, Bihar, and his colleagues came to Pindaruch this afternoon and gifted to the GLA HEALTH CENTRE PINDARUCH, an organ of PAANCHAJANYA PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST (REGD.), a gift package containing 1. An Oxygen Concentrator, 2. Two Oxygen Cylinders & accessories, 3. 40 units of full course of Corona medicines & usables, & 4. an Oxymeter, all worth Rs 135,000/- by standard price.
The GLA CENTER, Pindaruch serves a cluster of 14 villages offering medical advice to the needy, medicines at their door step, basic pathological tests collecting samples at the patient’s door step. It also offers visits by doctor & nebulization service at the home of those in need. Now it can also help manage Corona related emergencies until the victim can be taken for proper treatment to the nearby town of Darbhanga. Providing for in-house & properly supervised emergency care by qualified medical personnel is on the agenda of the Paanchaajanya P C TRUST (REGD.) & GLA CENTRE. With help from & good wishes of all, Pindaruch & the surrounding villages can soon have a reliable & affordable primary health care system. As a Diilip Kumar starrer said in the 1960s, SAATHII HAATH BADHAANA…, “Friends, give us a hand…! “. Any help will be gratefully acknowledged.

Paanchajanya Public Charitable Trust (Regd.) organized a free health check-up camp for people above 55 in Pindaruch and neighbouring villages. Maintaining social distancing, they were provided with masks and examined by Dr. Ganesh Chaudhary, volunteer medical officer of the GLA Health and Learning Center, Pindaruch, managed by the PPCT trust.
In all, a few hundred people visited the health center during the four-day camp. The majority of these were working-class people from dalit families. Women constituted about 40% of the visitors, many of whom were over 60 years old.
They were checked for blood pressure, body temperature, body weight, and general well-being. They were then given medicines to enhance their immunity. The Trust spent about Rs. 25,000 on the camp after the health center’s pharmacy gave 15% discount on the medicines. In other words, medicines worth nearly Rs. 30,000 were distributed to visitors of the camp.
All visitors were given required immunity boosting medicines and were advised to maintain Corona-specific precautions, and to stay home and stay safe. These daily wage earners have so far been safe, despite their having to venture out every day.

The CR Kothari Memorial Charitable Trust of Vadodara, Gujarat, has invited applications through GLA Centre, Pindaruch, affiliated to Paanchjanya Public Charitable Trust (Regd.), from school & college students of Darbhanga district for an annual scholarship of Rs. 5,000 to 10,000.
This year the scholarship will be given to only 15 students. All meritorious 8th class passed students from economically weaker families from any cast or gender can apply for this scholarship. Students from middle-class families whose mother or father passed away during the Corona pandemic can also apply, if the parent was the only source of income to the family. All applications with a processing fee of Rs. 100 (Rupees Hundred) must reach the GLA Centre by 30 September, 2021.
