IIT Madras Alumni Association Recognizes Paanchajanya Trust


Paanchajanya Trust has been chosen for an IITMAA best initiative award for 2021-23. It is given for exceptional commitment & support to projects for marginalised communities.

In a mail to the Trust, IITMAA wrote:

The award is a testament to your exceptional commitment. Your contributions have greatly impacted our community, and we are truly grateful for your support.

The award will be given at the AGM of the IITMAA at Hotel Westin, Velachery, Chennai beginning five p m of Saturday, 12 Aug, 2023.

Month-Long Course in Computer Literacy and Spoken English

Participants hold up their certificates at the end of the month-long course in Computer Literacy and Spoken English.

The Paanchajanya Centre for Health and Education, in collaboration with RuTAG, IIT Madras, offered a month-long course in Computer Literacy and Spoken English.

This course was designed and taught by IIT Madras interns Ujjaval Neema and Hruthik R Pawar at the Paanchajanya Centre. The course was attended by 70 students, including 28 boys from Pindaruch & 14 other villages in the neighbourhood.

Certificates were given away to successful participants at a simple ceremony at Paanchajanya Centre this evening.


The Paanchajanya Centre aims to educate and empower villages, enabling them to drive awareness and emancipation.

Vrikshaaropan

Pt Amarnath Jha, 93 yrs, a senior social worker and resident of Pindaruch, planed a Pakari tree, Ficus benjamina, on the occasion of tree plantation day on 15 April, 2023 following Juur Sheetal the festival of watering the trees and cleaning ponds, wells and other water bodies.

On its maturity, the tree would look as in the photo given below.

New Paanchajanya Centre Premises Inaugurated

07 April, 2023

On 07 April, 2023, Good Friday & World Health Day, the new premises of Paanchajanya Centre Pindaruch located on Darbhanga – Kamtaul – Nepal Highway were inaugurated by Dr. Rambabu Khetan, Chairman, Red Cross Society Darbhanga Bihar 847306. The celebration was attended by a gathering of well-known medical doctors & other citizens.

On this occasion, Mr Mukesh Choudhary, Lay Secretary of Paanchajanya Centre, presented a report on the activities & financial accounts of the centre during 2022-23.

Almost Ready to Receive Visitors

Paanchajanya Centre Pindaruch is almost ready to receive visitors. Front portion is for the pharmacy; the doctor will sit in the room at the rear. Between the two, are areas for visitors’ waiting room & emergency care. A reputed hospital in Darbhanga has agreed to provide emergency care here.
